In the second half of 2017, Caixa Econômica Federal opened a national bid for hiring a company to develop a corporate finance manager for its corporate clients.
At the time, to speed up the development of the product to be presented to competitors, Nexxera hired Bravi Software, a startup where I worked as a UX designer.
The biggest challenge was to be allocated to another company, having to deal with a large new team of developers and product owners, presenting and working intensively and collaboratively the design deliverables.
Besides that, we had only 6 months to complete the design and development of this new product.
Even thought the company had over 25 years of experience in the Brazilian market, it was the first time the company had contact with a Design professional. Everything that had been developed so far was suggested directly by developers.
For this project, Nexxera provided a personas study and extensive documentation on banking processes and transactions that helped me to immerse myself in the banking world.
It took me a few weeks of study and rounds of meetings with POs to understand the scope, until I could come up with a solution proposal.
Due to the short term for the bid, it was agreed among the teams, that internal deliveries would be by wireframes.
Once the bid was won, the wireframes would be upgraded to high fidelity (hi-fi) with the Caixa branding application, provided by the customer.
Learnings and Conclusions
The process of learning and collaboration was very intense, it got most of the company where I worked, Nexxera, busy. During the whole process I was ahead of the UX design processes for the product construction.
There were some mishaps as it was the company's first experience working with a designer, the deadline was almost unrealistic because of the bidding and we had to present a ready-made product in record time.
After successfully winning the bidding contract, in September 2018 the Nexxera Group invited me to pave the way in building a Product Design team at the company.
